The Story
This couple loved to entertain, but only had a small concrete patio that was barely enough room for a grill and patio table, much less guests. Also, being on the south side of their house, the patio space got so hot at times in the summer months that it was miserable to be outside. We worked with their wish list and vision to create a perfect outdoor area that featured multiple levels by using the fall of their backyard to our advantage, a built-in nook for their grill, a triangular pergola, low-voltage lighting, and a circular fire pit area where the fire pit was built into the wall to maximize space. Some simple plants softened up the space to make it feel even homier.
